Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That preceding assault - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
